Halloween Hooligans and the U.S. Post Office

November 1 found us and our neighbors with our mailboxes pounded down to the ground by a well-thrown pumpkin. So no mail delivery. I'm sure there are rules regarding mail delivery to downed mail boxes :)
The battered boxes were up by the next day with the beginnings of a new structure.
A new roof was obviously developing.
Alrighty, new boxes now placed in numerical order, and under a roof.
The roof apparently needed shingles, and the post office wanted the boxes placed in post-office-preferred sequence. So here we have the Taj Mahal of mail boxes, courtesy of the pumpkin-throwing hooligans and our luck in having an architect and structural engineer as neighbors :)

Fall Is Fleeing

The leaves are falling fast but the colors are still gorgeous.
Late bloomer, and winter berries
And the leaves...
I can't take a walk without cat accompaniment, so here they are.
Ali moving into child's pose for her afternoon yoga,
and Smokey, always ready for her closeup.
Enjoy and appreciate the colors and temperatures while you can -
because nothing gold can stay.

Smokey deserves her own blog posting - 10/9/12

You need to watch your beverage when sitting outside with Smokey.
Looking at the blowing leaves...
Back in June, going for my water -
And if you're a bird looking for a bath, please beware:
She is lovely company,
here sleeping in the arms of St. Francis,
here patrolling the perimeter.
And sphinx-like, she is always ready for her close-up.

Doe, a deer, a female deer - and a brave one at that - 8/29/12

She was a bold one. This is right outside of our bedroom window and we are watching each other.
I was in the kitchen starting the coffee and saw her bob up in the woods.  She nicely stayed around for a few more photos, watching the cat on the patio watching her, before taking off.
Here's a deer posting from last year: Here, there, and everywhere, we have deer

Ashley's Last Day at Heartside - 7/17/12

The lovely Ashley is moving on to a new chapter in her social work career, and today, everyone wanted a picture with her.
Besides being a social worker, Ashley also break dances and ran an Authentic Movement group here at Heartside. Here is some handstand fun with Ashley and Anthony:
I rather liked these better - fun with gravity and holding up a small part of the world:

More fun people and photos:
Au revoir, Ashley! We will miss you!
