"World's Largest Weathervane" ~ 4560 Dowling St, Montague MI

We first visited the weathervane back in July of 2017 and it is impressive.
It stands 48 feet tall with 26 foot arrows and an 11 by 14 foot schooner at the top. The schooner is modeled after the Ella Ellenwood that ran aground off Milwaukee in 1901. Eventually its name plate floated back to White Lake, its homeport. The weathervane was built in 1984 and Montague takes great pride in it.
There are three other claimants for the World's Largest Weathervane, one in Spain and two in Canada but we were not here to quibble.
Last week we were in Montague and stopped to have another look. It is spectacular, even if it's not the world's largest.
